See How do I download and install the OverDrive Media Console? for more information.
You may download the OverDrive Media Console from the OverDrive site. Click the OverDrive Media Console icon.

A security warning confirming your download will pop up, asking if you want to run or save the file. Choose "Run".

The file will begin downloading. No action is needed at this point. Simply wait for the download to complete and move to the next step.

Another security warning confirming that you want to run this software will pop up. Again, choose "Run".

The installation process will begin. After a couple preliminary screens, the OverDrive Media Console Setup Wizard will display. Choose "Next".

Next you will be asked to select an installation folder. Often the default folder listed in the box is fine. Choose "Next" to continue the installation process.

Please wait while the OverDrive Media Console is installed. No action is required until you see the screen saying Installation Complete. Click "Close" to exit the installation process.

Now you're all ready to check out and download digital audio books from OverDrive!
The first time you use one of our audiobooks, you'll see a message asking you to upgrade your Windows Media Player security. Don't worry – this is normal!
The Windows Media Security Upgrade is a one-time process that must be performed before Microsoft Windows Media Player will allow any copy-protected files to be played.
The first time that Windows Media Player attempts to open a protected file, it will alert the user that a Security Update must be performed before the file may be opened. The update takes just a few moments.
To complete this upgrade:
If you still see this message, try going to http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/Indivsite/en/indivit.asp and press the upgrade button.
If this still does not work, especially if you see the error "the parameter is incorrect," try resetting the DRM (Digital Rights Management) for Windows Media Player.
1. Rename the DRM folder to DRM.old. It can be found in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\DRM. If you cannot find the folder, it may be 'hidden'. Please use the following steps to view hidden files and folders.
-In Windows Explorer go to Tools > Folder Options > View
-Under 'Hidden files and folders' heading, make the following changes:
Select 'Show Hidden Files and Folders'
Un-check 'Hide Protected Operating System Files'
-Click the button 'Apply to All Folders'. This will ensure the changes affect all folders on the system.
2. Re-run the Windows Media Player Security Upgrade from the OverDrive Media Console under the 'Tools' menu.
No. OverDrive Audio Book titles, provided by OverDrive, Inc., use DRM protection technology from Microsoft Corporation. Unfortunately the iPod and Mac do not currently support DRM-protected Windows Media Audio (WMA) files.
OverDrive, along with hundreds of online digital media providers, is hopeful that Apple and Microsoft can reach an agreement that would enable support for Microsoft-based DRM-protected materials on the iPod and Mac.
Unfortunately, there are no digital audiobook or video products on the library market that work with anything other than Windows.
Yes it is possible, but only if each person has their own Windows login. It is also necessary to configure the OverDrive Media Console to allow Everyone to use the program. This was an option when you installed OverDrive. If you did not select this option, uninstall OverDrive and reinstall OverDrive with this option selected.
